Emma Ruth Rundle and Jon Samuel Ardron
Another Sunday evening with Echoes & Dust, at West London’s Bush Hall.
Emma Ruth Rundle was, somehow, largely a mystery to me until tonight. The way people described her suggested the live performance would have a very unique aura, so I deliberately avoided tuning in until I could catch her show in person first. They weren’t wrong - ERR’s world is captivating, complicated, and dare I say it, quite painful to experience. The sold out room was nothing short of mesmerized.
Support came from the wonderful and discrete Berlin-based pianist Jon Samuel Ardron, whose impressive set I’m led to believe was largely improvised.
No press pit, so I kept the gear as uninvasive as possible: shot on Sony A7 IV paired with the Tamron 70-180 F2.8 III, and a handful of images taken with my latest Ebay addition, the Samyang 14mm F2.8.
